An invitation to institutions

Partner With the Resistance Mission

Women Without Fear is being developed as an international education, remembrance and public-engagement initiative. We invite museums, educational institutions, Holocaust organizations, archives, book groups and community partners to participate through educational collaboration, programming, distribution and institutional support.

There is no cost to participate and no obligation. An expression of interest starts a conversation about what would suit your institution; nothing is agreed until it is agreed in writing.

Who may participate

An open invitation, not a closed list

Any organization with a role in Holocaust education, remembrance, resistance history, women's history, publishing or public engagement is welcome to express interest. That includes, and is not limited to:

Holocaust museums and memorials Holocaust education centres and councils Jewish museums and cultural institutions Resistance and Second World War museums Women's history institutions Genocide-prevention and remembrance organizations Universities and research centres Archives and libraries Schools and educator networks Book clubs and reading groups Community and faith organizations Foundations and philanthropic institutions Distributors, booksellers and museum shops

Small organizations are as welcome as large ones. A reading group of twelve people and a national museum are both useful to this work, in different ways.

Most participation costs nothing. Choose whichever fit what your organization already does — you can select more than one, and selecting one commits you to nothing.

What participation may involve

What we would ask of you

  • A conversation, first — usually one call, at your convenience
  • Your judgement on what would actually work at your institution, rather than a fixed programme
  • Realism about your own calendar, budget and approvals
  • Written agreement before anything is announced, published or scheduled

What we would not ask of you

  • No fee, no membership and no financial contribution of any kind, unless you choose the funding pathway
  • No exclusivity, and no restriction on your other partnerships
  • No use of your name, logo or endorsement without your documented written permission
  • No commitment arising from this form — an expression of interest is not an application, and it is not binding on either side

Funding and sponsorship

For the institutions whose contribution is financial

Most participation costs nothing, and most of this page is about the other ways to take part. For foundations, corporate funders and philanthropic institutions, the levels below indicate the scale at which each kind of programme becomes possible. They are starting points for a conversation, not products, and there is no checkout.

Founding Partnerfrom $25,000

Supports manuscript completion and publication, or the development of a defined educational resource.

Education Partnerfrom $50,000

Funds an educational programme: classroom materials together with the placement of books in schools and museums.

National Distribution Partnerfrom $100,000

Underwrites distribution into a defined country, region or institutional network, with an agreed delivery plan.

Lead Legacy Partner$150,000 and above

Supports the project as a whole across publication, education and distribution, over a multi-year horizon.

Bespoke Partnershipdeveloped around agreed outcomes

Built from the outcomes an organization wants to achieve — a language, a territory, a curriculum, an institution — rather than from a figure.

Foundations and institutions working to their own grant cycles, application formats or reporting requirements are welcome to say so at the outset; the project works to the funder's process. Any figures attached to a partnership — numbers of books, schools, territories or participants — are set as goals in the written agreement and described as goals, not as results already achieved.

Recognition, governance and what is not offered in advance

Recognition developed by agreement

  • Acknowledgement on legacy.ngo
  • Recognition in materials produced by The Legacy Project
  • Naming of a defined initiative, such as a distribution programme, a translation or an educational resource
  • Invitations to lectures, screenings and educational events
  • Written reporting on the outcomes the partnership funded

What is not offered in advance

  • Recognition inside a traditionally published edition of the book cannot be committed in advance, because it may require the publisher's agreement
  • No partnership carries editorial control, approval rights over historical content, or the right to review the text before publication
  • Exclusivity, category exclusivity and territorial rights are not offered as standard and exist only where separately agreed in writing
  • No partner name or logo is displayed by The Legacy Project without documented written permission
  • Tax treatment is a matter for the fiscal sponsor and your own advisers, not for this page

Partnership recognition is developed by agreement. Historical integrity and editorial independence remain with The Legacy Project.

Recognition inside a traditionally published edition of the book cannot be committed in advance, because it may require the publisher's agreement. No partnership carries editorial control or approval rights over historical content.

The Legacy Project operates under the fiscal sponsorship of Ner L'Horeinu, Inc., a U.S. 501(c)(3) organization (Federal Tax ID 83-1635608). Gifts are processed by the fiscal sponsor, which issues receipts.

Leadership gifts from individuals and families

A leadership gift of $10,000 or more can support a named educational or distribution initiative — a translation, a school programme, a region. Leadership gifts are discussed in the same way as institutional partnerships, and the same governance terms apply.
